Extensive Renovation and Painting Work at Oiltanking<\/h2>\n\n

The challenge<\/h3>\n\n

Oiltanking faced a challenge with one of their oil tank facilities whose existing paint system was starting to show signs of wear and ageing. This affected not only the aesthetic expression of the tank, but also its structural integrity and safety. A comprehensive refurbishment was urgently needed to extend the service life of the tank and ensure continued reliability.<\/p>\n\n

The solution<\/h3>\n\n

Mamoba was chosen to carry out this crucial job because of our expertise in industrial cleaning and surface treatment. The work was carried out in several carefully planned phases:<\/p>\n\n

Step 1: Cleaning to Bare Steel<\/h4>\n\n

The process began with a thorough cleaning of the tank using a 560b hot water system that effectively removed the old paint layer, rust, and other build-up. This method ensured that the surface was cleaned down to bare steel, which is essential for a durable and effective repaint.<\/p>\n\n

Step 2: Treatment for Rust and Damage<\/h4>\n\n

After cleaning, the tank was carefully inspected for rust and minor damage. These were treated and repaired, including spot priming, in preparation for the new paint system. This phase was critical to ensure that the subsequent paint would have maximum adhesion and protection.<\/p>\n\n

Step 3: Applying the Topcoat<\/h4>\n\n

Finally, a high-quality topcoat was applied. This new paint layer not only improves the visual appearance of the tank but also offers increased protection against environmental factors and chemical corrosion. The colour selection and finish were carefully chosen to meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.<\/p>\n\n

The result<\/h3>\n\n

The final result of Mamoba’s work was a complete transformation of Oiltanking’s tank. The previously worn and aged tank now looked like new with a shiny white surface that not only improves the aesthetics of the facility, but also its operational life. This renovation has not only had a great visual impact but also reinforced the structural integrity of the tank.<\/p>\n\n
